Grout in kitchen and dining room cleaned and partially replaced, caulking around edges of kitchen wall tiles.
The guy (Dan) who did the quote was punctual, professional, and sent a detailed quote by email the next day. The estimate was slightly higher than a competitor's, but after a small price reduction I went with this company since they seemed more thorough and professional. The work was done quickly and was good quality - all grout in my kitchen and dining room was cleaned and partially replaced; the grout is now a uniform color and looks great! Maybe a few dollars more overall but well worth the extra $ for the quality of work.
Sir Grout did a great job in my bathroom. They re-grouted
ceramic tile and refinished the bathtub. The work was done several months ago, but it still looks like new. They did the job meticulously. Dan, the owner, has followed up a couple of times with me, to make sure I was happy with the work.
Everything was great from beginning to end. From the first appointment for an estimate, Dan not only arrived promptly but took the extra step to call 30 mins beforehand to let me know he was on his way. Dan was very professional - by first taking off his shoes without hestation before he came in. He went over everything and provided some additional line item costs should I decide to do some additional work. I had a printed estimate in my hand before he left ~20 mins later! I told him I was gathering a few other estimates and would get back to him should I decide to go with them. He mentioned that if I found another competitor that detailed out the same work that came in at a lower cost than their price, that he'd be willing to work with me on getting a reduced cost. After a couple other estimates, I planned to go with another company but their schedule wasn't as accommodating/quick for me so I gave Dan a call to see if he could get closer to this competitor's cost ($200 less). While he did not match the cost of the lower bid, he did come close to the middle and offered me an additional $85 off the cost of the original estimate. The reduction was in addition to the Angie's List discount as well. I was sold! Not only did I have a great experience with the estimate and their flexibility to work with me on cost, I got an appointment to complete the work right away that worked for my schedule perfectly. The guys who came out to do the work were great. They were running behind on the job before me but called me 2hrs in advance to let me know they were running behind and that he would call me in an hour to give me a more concrete time. This worked out even better for me. Justin did as he said and called back with their arrival time. They were actually right on time while I got stuck in traffic an extra 10 minutes! Again, Justin and the other guy (can't remember his name) were professional, courteous, got right to work and were finished in a couple hours - just as I'd been told. My shower looks great!
When we moved into our new condo, our kitchen floor had an unexplained orange residue stuck to the grout. Mops didn't work, scrubbing didn't work and the floor looked dingy and worn. Sr. Grout steamed cleaned everything thoroughly and brightened up the room with a nice gray/white sealant. Now we feel safe when our new puppies are sniffing around the kitchen.
The shower had several significant stains and it looks brand new today. They were clean, prompt and professional. I would recommend Dan to anyone who might call me. When I was concerned that they would not be able to get the stains out, because several other contractors had told me that we would need to tear out the shower completely, Dan offered to come free of charge and see if he could meet my expectations. He did and even though I knew there was going to be significant improvement, he and his company out did themselves on the finished product. Highly recommended.
Dan, I could not be happier with the results! The cork flooring was installed so poorly 6-7 years ago, followed by a number of techs claiming they could restore it but only making more of a mess, that I felt defeated and resigned myself to living with this costly mistake. But now, it has the most beautiful lustre, the richness of the burnt cork color is back, and the buffer swirls and scuff marks are gone. I can't take my eyes off of it as I sit at my desk.
I am following Souk's instructions not to use the master shower for 48 hours, and already having had a high opinion of Souk from my first meeting, I spent a few minutes getting to know Eddie, and I think he, too, will make a great addition to your staff. How can I not admire someone admitting to be a perfectionist, to the point of OCD, when I am proud of it myself?!
I would still like to proceed with the master bath limestone floor restoration, as well as the limestone at the base of my stairs. The guest bathroom we talked about gets so little use, I don't think the floor needs a full sanding, but if you suggest a deep cleaning of the floor and shower walls there, let's do that. No urgency, as your schedule permits.
In April 2012 I used a company to re-grout and seal my shower because the builders grade grout installed when we bought our house had become loose and started to fall out. I paid $375 and within 3 months, my tile looked the same and again began to crack and fall out. I attempted to have the previous company repair the work to no avail. Instead of wasting countless hours fighting this company to repair their work, I decide to look for another company to fix and repair my shower. I contacted Sir Grout who came out to my house and looked at what I needed done. They gave me several options on how to get my shower looking new again. I was provided a detailed estimate for the work which I found to be very affordable and competitive. Needless to say, I decide to use them and I'm glad I did. The next week they came to my house and steam cleaned, re-grouted and sealed my shower. It took about 4 hours from start to finish. The workers were very professional and clean. All I can say is, WOW!! The tile was bright white, all the seams were caulked and everything was re-grouted and sealed. My shower looked brand new. I was very happy with the finished product. I would HIGHLY recommend Sir Grout to anyone looking for grout cleaning and sealing. Sir Grout even followed up with me several months later to make sure I was still satisfied with the work and offered to come out and fix anything needed. This is something you don't often see from other companies. Well, I did not need any follow up because the quality of their work was outstanding and is still looking brand new months later. I will definitely use Sir Grout in the future. Thank you!
Dan is great to work with responsive in the bidding, scheduling and follow-up. This turned into a bigger job than expected because we had deferred maintenance. When it became clear that more time was needed Dan thoughtfully modified the cost of the job and completed the work in a very thorough way. The results look terrific on all three of the components shower stall and two bathroom floors. We will use Dan again without question.
My first impression of Sir Grout was very professional. The person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and was able to set an appointment right away. When I met Dan, I thought he was also very friendly and professional. He took his time to inspect the work I needed done and gave a reasonable estimate. I had a written estimate in hand and a service appointment set before he left. The men who came to do the repairs arrived on time and finished early. They went over the list of things to do before starting and showed me the completed work before they left. I was very pleased with everything, but I was most impressed with a broken tile repair. I had a broken tile around the master tub and feared I would have to replace all of the tile in the bathroom if I couldn't repair it. Sir Grout was able to repair the broken tile and make it appear nearly unnoticeable. I am very happy with Sir Grout and I would recommend them to all of friends.
Like most of us today, we are inundated daily with telephone sales pitches and more ads in our post office box than actual mail. It wasn't always this way but it forces us to be more selective about what we read or even calls to which we chose to listen. Somehow, your mail ad got through to us. Timing certainly makes a difference and we knew or new home needed grout work in our master bathroom.
Despite my wife's suspicions, she accepted the appointment I made for an estimate from Sir Grout. Dan, the owner and all around good guy, gave what I believed to be a reasonable estimate. He also explained the process he would be going through in great detail. One always takes a risk, particularly when time consuming but sensible references are not performed. We took that risk because we have so much on our plate that we haven't even finished unpacking from our first of the year move. Dan also exuded confidence. I was taking a major risk with my marriage but my gamble was rewarded. He showed up on time and spent the entire day, turning down our dinner offer, to complete a job that was bigger than even he expected. He also left the job site cleaner than when he started. We're checking to see if he might be branching into housekeeping!
We followed his instructions on how to treat the grout initially and he even left a bottle of grout to be used on any spots that might have been missed or pop up by accident later. So far, I can only say our "gamble" paid off and I am happy to offer my recommendation for Sir Grout to others seeking his service down the road.
