Before and After Picture of a MArble Stone Polishing Service in Chicago, IL
This client of ours, a resident of the beautiful Gold Coast area in Chicago, was proud to show off her marble floors. She had installed them a couple of years ago, and they soon became one of the main features in her home. However, after a few years had passed, she started to notice her floor was not the same as it used to be. Time had taken its toll and what used to be a polished marble floor, now appeared lifeless and dull. Not wanting to wait until the dullness was irreversible, our client decided to search for a stone polishing service in Gold Coast before it was too late.

Determined to find the best hard surface restoration company in Chicago to bring back the original shine of her floors, our client began to search on Google. Browsing through an almost endless stream of reviews, she followed a few exceptional ones to Sir Grout Chicago's website. She checked our gallery and soon noticed our ample experience restoring marble floors. Convinced we were able to offer her what she needed, she placed a call and set up a free in-home evaluation.

Right on time on the scheduled day, our crew of expert technicians arrived at our client's Gold Coast residence to take a look at her floors and offer the best possible solution. The first thing they noticed was that the marble was in dire need of maintenance. It did not help that the grout was also stained in a few areas and a bit damaged. They asked if she had done any maintenance before, but she told them that she was usually very busy and had not done any professional type of restoration since she had installed the floors. That explained it, our crew thought as they offered a stone polishing and grout cleaning service to give the floor a makeover. Trusting their experience and reputation, our client agreed to the service and made another appointment.

A couple of days later, our team returned to get the job done. They started by spraying our own cleaner, specifically designed for marble surfaces, and let it sit a few minutes to stir the layer of dirt that covered both the floors and the grout. Once the dirt was loosened, they used a machine scrubber to rinse it away and then a steam cleaner for the most difficult-to-reach places and to get rid of all possible bacterial growth. At last, to finish the cleaning process, they wet vacuumed all the water to not leave any residue permeate the marble again.

After that extensive cleaning, our team worked on repairing the grout; polished marble alone can't make a floor look good if the grout remains dirty and damaged. They removed all loose and cracked grout, vacuumed the gaps, and applied the new grout where necessary. Once they were done and the grout was dry and ready, they applied Sir Grout's signature ColorSeal, a water-based nontoxic sealer that helps protect the porous grout from staining agents and water, while making it spill-resistant. ColorSeal also aids in recoloring grout lines so that they look uniform and attractive.

Once the grout was ready, our team focused on bringing back the polish to the marble. They achieved this by using diamond pads to grind away the dulled stone surface until it regained its original gleam was back. To make these results last as long as possible they applied a deep-penetrating sealer on the stone to protect it from spills and other damaging agents. This Stone Armor also and aids against wear from heavy foot traffic.

After a satisfying day of work, our team proudly showcased the results to our client, who was instantly wowed by her marble floor's new look. She said it had never looked as good as it did now and that she would call Sir Grout Chicago again for another round of maintenance when it was required.

Marble is not a stone surface that can do without maintenance and appropriate care for very long. It is extremely sensitive to acidic substances, which can cause etching on contact. It needs to be sealed constantly to prevent it from staining, as it is quite porous. Cleaning it with improper products can dull it very quickly, and even if you care for it meticulously, professional upkeep work will always be a requirement to maintain it. Remember to clean spills as soon as possible, and to sweep or vacuum your floors to prevent them from getting scratched by sand granules and other small debris.
